The neighborhood located on the north side of Chicago, encompasses the smaller neighborhoods of Ravenswood Gardens, Ravenswood Manor, Bowmanville, and Budlong Woods. The CTA Brown Line and the Metra Union Pacific North line stations are easily accessible with multiple stops in Lincoln Square. Multiple CTA bus routes also pass through the neighborhood. Mayfest Chicago, fills the streets of Lincoln and Leland Avenues, in the first week of June. The German festival features great German food, beer and a crowning of the years Mayfest Queen. It was voted “Best Fest of 2009” by Chicago’s (RedEye 1/26/10). The neigborhood’s German-American Festival, 4700 North Lincoln Avenue, (630) 653-3018, is filled with German cakes, folk dancers, beer, wine, and live music. Admission is free.
