About Jackson Park Highlands

Developed to overlook Chicago’s third largest park from which the community is named after, the Jackson Park Highlands district is part of the broader South Shore area (located approximately 8 miles from the Loop). Known for its many historic homes, the neighborhood was designated a Chicago Landmark in 1989— and served as the home to former Chicago Bears player and now Pro Football Hall of Famer Gale Sayers. Often regarded as a well esteemed South Side neighborhood, houses in the community typically range from a wide variety of styles and type. Residents much appreciate the many scenic beautiful parks and playgrounds the neighborhood has to offer.
